Quarter closes
We send a reminder and a short list of what we need — usually just bank feeds reconciled to the quarter end.
We reconcile
GST coding checked, control accounts reconciled, and any questions sent to you in one message.
You approve
You see the figures and the amount payable before anything is lodged. Sign electronically.
We lodge
Before your due date. You get the receipt and payment details, and the file is locked for the quarter.
Bring this.
Don't have all of it? Start anyway. We'll tell you exactly what's missing, once, and much of it we can pull from the ATO directly.

What "on time" means here
The BAS fee carries the on-time lodgement commitment written into our engagement letter: if a BAS is lodged late because of us, we cover the ATO failure-to-lodge penalty, capped at one penalty unit per lodgement as set out in the letter. Lodging through a registered agent also gives you the agent concession on quarterly BAS — extra weeks past the standard date. The full FY27 schedule is on the blog.
Coding is where BAS goes wrong
Most BAS errors aren't arithmetic. They're a transaction coded to the wrong GST type: GST claimed on bank fees, on a purchase from an unregistered supplier, on the private share of a vehicle, or missed on a capital purchase. We review the coding of unusual items every quarter rather than trusting the software default. Our Q2 BAS mistakes post lists the ones we see most.
Rideshare and delivery drivers
If you drive for Uber, DiDi or a delivery platform and only need the quarterly BAS, the $65 Rideshare BAS is built for exactly that — enter the quarter's figures, a registered agent reviews and lodges.
Common questions.
A BAS reports GST plus whatever else applies to you — PAYG withholding, PAYG instalments, fuel tax credits. An IAS is the smaller form for businesses that aren't GST-registered but still have PAYG withholding or instalments to report. Our BAS and IAS explainers walk through each label.
